Like so many families and small businesses, COVID has changed our circumstances and we have now moved into the cottage as a family for the foreseeable future. Your exclusive getaway in coastal Northumberland

• Our beautiful 4 bed fisherman's cottage is situated in a unique location on The Square at Low-Newton-by-the-Sea, near Alnwick, and sleeps 8 comfortably. The stunning Newton Haven beach is on your doorstep, and the famous Ship Inn and micro Brewery right next door. Picturesque Dunstanburgh Castle stands proud in the distance overlooking the long sandy beach.

The house is on a square of old fisherman's cottages looking out to sea, and is one of the largest on the square.

The cottage:

The house has a stunning large family kitchen with Everhot stove, and a big kitchen table in the centre. This leads through to a comfy sitting room for relaxing at the end of a busy day on the beach or in the local countryside. At the other end of the house there is a utility/wet room, with its own private door to and from the square. We love the coast, and getting wet and sandy on the beach with the kids, so we have designed this room for you to walk straight in from the beach, shower, get rid of all the sand, (and even go to the loo), before walking into the rest of the house. The house has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms spread upstairs and downstairs. 

• Large kitchen dining room, with table and benches to seat 10 adults

• Sitting room, with seating for 7

• Utility/ wet room with downstairs loo (with child seat attachment)

• Open and light porch and hallway at the entrance

• 2 Kingsize ensuite bedrooms, with showers (one upstairs, one downstairs)

• 2 twin bedrooms each with 2 single beds (both upstairs)

• 1 Family bathroom with shower and bath (upstairs)

Bedrooms

We have furnished all the bedrooms with high quality and extremely comfy beds with deep mattresses, feather duvets and pillows, and white Egyptian cotton sheets to help you relax and unwind in pure luxury on your holidays. High chair, Travel Cot and two large bed guards are all stored in the house should you need them

Cooking

We love cooking, and want you to be able to feel at home while on holiday, so we have filled the cupboards with herbs, spices, oils, coffee, tea, cocoa, and baking basics to help you feel at home and enjoy your stay here.

Eco Friendly

During the renovations we fully insulated the cottage, from the ground, to the walls and up to the roof. All this we did to help retain the heat, and reduce our wastage of electricity throughout the cottage. We believe in reducing our impact on the environment as much as possible and so all our electricity is supplied by Ecotricity who match all the electricity we use with renewable energy (there is no gas or oil supply to the property). We use Eco friendly products for all of our cleaning - using refills wherever possible, and we aim to keep plastics and energy use to a minimum.
